What They Won't Tell You About Got2b Glued

If you are plugged into the social world of wigs, you've probably seen or heard the got2b movement. It is a great product for creating an authentic style by keeping your wig in place and blending your skin with lace.

Over the past years, women and men have used it to achieve a more natural look with their wigs, extensions or weaves.

Thanks to the got2b glued gel, today you can wear wigs and not look like a clown.

Below, I am going to share with you 6 tips I’ve picked up along the way to ensure a secure hold for your lace wigs.

Got2b glued

  • It is not a glue

Many people may mistakenly take it as a glue for it has the word "glue" stated on the bottle of the product, but it is not a lace glue. Got2b glued is a “water-resistant” hair styling/spiking gel. It shouldn't be used as a wig unit adhesive for lace for long-term use. Basically, it can only keep your wig in place for no longer than about 2 to 3 days. As time goes by, the weight is going to lift your wig. So do not use this stuff as a long-term adhesive.

  • Apply it before makeup

I think I should reiterate this tip. Apply gel BEFORE applying makeup. The gel does not mix with the makeup at all in fact it will turn white. I want to also go a little further and say to let the gel set and dry before applying your makeup. What I usually do is apply my wig using the gel, tie my hair down for 30 minutes to a few hours (depending on how much time I have to spare) and then apply makeup.

  • Use the cool air for drying

Notice that heat doesn’t work best with the gel. It will destroy it. So, if you are using any heat tool to dry the gel, make sure it’s on the cool level. It goes without saying that heat or hot air will allow for the moisture, humidity, and sweat. This leads to the destruction of the formed bond.

  • It’s not so water resistant

While the manufacturer claim that this product is water resistant, it’s not all that true. During extreme heat days and if you are one that loves swimming, this won’t work for you. When you start to sweat, the bond starts to loosen slowly.

  • Tie hair down for at least 30-45 minute

Tie your edges and hairline down for at least 30-45 minutes. This is usually enough time for the gel to dry. However, the longer you are able to tie your hair down the longer your wig will hold. Tying your hair down for the minimum amount of time will give a you a full day’s hold. If you are able to tie your hair down over night you can get a few days to a full week’s hold from your application. All you need is water to remove your wig.

  • You cannot just pull your hair out

Got 2b glue gel is helpful for installing a lace wig nicely. But some sisters worry it will damage the edges and don't know how to remove it properly. You cannot just pull your wig off your head after using Got2B glue gel. To protect your own edges, you’d better saturate the hair with water and conditioner before you begin removing or take a wet hot towel with steam coming off it and apply it to the area where you’ve applied Got2B glue gel. Let that steam go in and break up the hardness and durability of that Got2B glue gel. Just proceed with caution when applying and removing this stuff.
